CARPS CREW PTY LTD is seeking skilled and reliable Carpenters to support ongoing residential and commercial carpentry projects across Adelaide and surrounding areas. The business requires employees who can perform trade-level carpentry work safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.

About the Role

The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, erecting, renovating and repairing structures and fixtures made from timber, plywood, wallboard and other building materials. The role requires the ability to read and interpret plans, prepare materials, complete framing and fit-out work, and perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with drawings, specifications, workplace procedures and safety requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·Examine drawings, work orders and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, installation procedures and project requirements.

·Select, measure, mark, cut, shape, assemble and join timber and other construction materials using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.

  1. Construct, install, erect, renovate and repair structures and fixtures using timber, plywood, wallboard and other materials.
  2. Door Installations: Fitting internal and external doors, including hinges, locks, handles, and door closers.
  3. Trim & Moldings: Installing architraves (door trims), skirting boards, and crown molding for a seamless finish.
  4. Hardware & Fixtures: Mounting bathroom accessories, window hardware, and other fixtures.
  5. Construct wall, floor and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and ensure structures are correctly aligned, level and plumb.
  6. Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, window frames, door frames, doors, skirting, architraves and other fittings.
  7. Cut, shape and fit timber joints and components to achieve strong and accurate connections.
  8. Assemble pre-prepared timber components and fittings for installation on site or in the workshop.
  9. Fabricate and install concrete formwork where required for construction projects.
  10. Carry out repair and maintenance work on existing structures, fixtures and fittings.
  11. Conduct site measurements and inspections, check completed work for quality and compliance, and report any defects or safety issues.
  12. Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and organised condition.
  13. Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, site rules, building standards and reasonable directions from supervisors or project managers.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  1. Certificate III in Carpentry or a higher relevant qualification.
  2. At least 1 to 2 years of relevant carpentry experience.
  3. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and measurements accurately.
  4. Competence in using carpentry hand tools, power tools and relevant machinery safely.
  5. Knowledge of framing, fit-out, installation, repair and maintenance carpentry methods.
  6. Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work to required quality standards.
  7. Good time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  9. Flexibility to work across different project sites within Adelaide and surrounding areas as required.
  10. Relevant registration, licence, white card or site induction may be required depending on the project and legal requirements.
