Thomson Reuters are looking for a Business Development Manager to join and support our Cleardocs team. Step into a high‑impact sales role where you’ll blend inside and field-based selling to drive real growth. You’ll own the full sales cycle by opening new business, converting opportunities, and expanding revenue within strategic accounts through thoughtful upsell and cross-sell, while protecting and increasing client spend on Cleardocs.

As a trusted advisor, you’ll bring strong subject-matter expertise aligned to our core propositions and use it to shape compelling solutions for clients. You’ll build relationships with senior decision-makers across corporates, legal practices, tax and accounting firms, government, and other priority sectors. Your primary focus will span finance and accounting, the SMSF industry, financial planners, legal firms, and corporate clients. If you’re motivated by winning new logos, growing key accounts, and partnering closely with clients to deliver outcomes, this role gives you the autonomy, visibility, and momentum to make a measurable impact.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Business Development Manager, Cleardocs, you will:

  • Own and deliver the Cleardocs (and related propositions) sales and Book of Business targets.

  • Generate new business in defined territories/segments (e.g., accounting and legal), from prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and close.

  • Expand revenue in existing accounts through upsell and cross-sell, collaborating with Client/Strategic Account Managers.

  • Build and nurture senior client relationships; understand needs and position the right solutions.

  • Work qualified leads from multiple sources and create self-generated pipeline to drive consistent closures.

  • Maintain disciplined activity and accurate pipeline/CRM data; provide customer feedback and conduct win/loss analysis.

  • Track market and competitive trends to identify opportunities and act as a product champion when required.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Business Development Manager, Cleardocs if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional field sales or SaaS business development role 

  • Accounting knowledge / qualifications preferred, and/or experience working in the accounting / corporate secretarial OR B2B sales to professionals.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the accounting / financial planning industry is preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales targets  

  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, presentation and consultative sales skills 

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Customer centric approach 

  • Commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities in white space / upsell to existing accounts

  • Ability to partner effectively with the wider sales team and internal stakeholders
