Boilermakers and Fitters

Mobile Concreting Solutions is an industry leader in the manufacture and supply of construction materials in North-west Australia. Due to continued growth an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Boilermakers and Fitters to join our dynamic team in Pilbara - Karratha, Port Hedland, Tom Price Quarry and Onslow Quarry.

The successful Boilermaker candidates will need to have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, and hold a relevant trade qualification, along with –

1. Experience repairing quarry fixed and mobile plant
2. Be proficient in various welding application including – Arc, Mig, Wire feed etc
3. Be proficient in all forms of oxy acetylene cutting and braising
4. Good understanding of different steel properties/functions
5. Be prepared to travel predominantly within the Pilbara region to service our quarry and concrete operations
6. Have a strong understanding and commitment to OH&S
7. Ability to work independently
8. An excellent mechanical aptitude
9. Sound problem solving and decision-making skills

The successful Fitter candidates will need to have a minimum of 5 years experience working on Elevated work platforms, AWP, Boom lift, Scissor Lift, Forklift, telehandler, CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, earth moving vehicles etc. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
2. Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
3. Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on reverse osmosis units, pumps, valves, piping systems, water monitoring equipment and all auxiliary equipment as required
4. Complies with applicable Safety, Environment, Health, and Waste Management policies and procedures
5. Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
6. Monitors and performs preventive maintenance on waste heat recovery system and components
7. Perform machine operations, servicing and engine overhauls
8. Performing schedule maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollutions regulations
9. Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
10. Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
11. Diagnosing and testing parts with assistance of computer

Salary range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year (commensurate to skills and experience)
