Overview:

Located in the heart of Fortitude Valley, Danny’s Boulangerie offers a charming "cellar door" retail space where customers can pick up fresh, handmade baked goods straight from the source. We proudly supply our original store and also bake in-house at Harris Farm Markets West End and Harris Farm Markets Clayfield. Our commitment to using only the finest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible, combines traditional baking techniques with a touch of innovation to produce a delicious range of breads, pastries, and custom cakes. Our products are featured in some of Brisbane's finest cafes, restaurants, and hotels, reflecting our dedication to quality and craftsmanship.

We are looking for a full-time Baker to join the team. This is a full-time ongoing position, based on Fortitude Valley, QLD.

Main Tasks:

-Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

-Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients

-Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

-Preparing pastry fillings

-Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times

-Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and

-cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products

-Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing

-Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits

-Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

-Certificate III in Baking, and a minimum of 1 year’s full-time work experience in the industry; OR 3 years’ work experience in the industry to substitute the formal qualification.

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

-Passion for artisan baking with a dedication to high-quality ingredients.

-Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Annual salary will be between $76,000.00 to $80,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
