Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation

Work Schedule: Rotating roster including overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts

About Us

Sam's East St Bakehouse is a busy 24/7 bakery located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, specialising in fresh breads, pastries, Turkish-style baked goods, and desserts. Due to continued business growth and high customer demand across both walk-in and online delivery platforms, we are seeking an experienced Baker to join our production team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, doughs and baked products

• Mixing, kneading, shaping and proofing doughs according to recipes and production schedules

• Monitoring oven temperatures and baking processes to maintain product consistency and quality

• Preparing fillings, toppings and bakery ingredients

• Coordinating the loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of bread, rolls and pastry products.

• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in accordance with workplace procedures

• Assisting with stock rotation and ingredient preparation

• Working collaboratively within a fast-paced commercial bakery environment

• Undertaking overnight and early morning production shifts as required

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

• Relevant qualification in Baking or related field and/or relevant industry experience in a commercial bakery environment

• Experience working in a commercial bakery environment

• Knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation and baking processes

• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment

• Strong attention to detail and food quality standards

• Flexibility to work rotating rosters including overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Good communication and teamwork skills
