About the Role
Supreme Poultry is seeking a motivated and professional Accountant to support the financial management and strategic growth of our business. This role is responsible for providing high-level accounting, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, compliance, and financial analysis services to assist management in making informed business decisions. The employer for the role will be Central Coast Labour, who is responsible for the hiring and recruitment for Supreme Poultry.

Salary: $77,000 - $87,000 plus superannuation
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the organisation's financial systems, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and contributing to the development of financial policies and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of accounting and financial management policies and procedures.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse organisational income, expenditure, operating costs and profitability to support management decision-making.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections and monitor performance against budget targets.
- Conduct financial investigations and prepare reports relating to business performance, financial risks and operational efficiency.
- Provide financial and taxation advice to management regarding business operations, structures and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and review taxation returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and other statutory lodgements.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, government agencies and other professional advisers.
- Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Monitor compliance with taxation legislation, accounting standards and other statutory requirements.
- Assess financial risks and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the evaluation of capital expenditure projects and investment opportunities through financial modelling and cash flow analysis.
- Review and maintain accounting systems and advise management on improvements to financial reporting processes and accounting software.
- Support internal and external audit processes and assure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
- Prepare management reports, financial analyses and business performance metrics for senior management.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an accountant role, preferably in the food/wholesale industry
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts and management reports.
- Proficient in using accounting software (MYOB/Xero).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Experience with accounting software and enterprise financial systems.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
