The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Technical Sales Account Manager to join the Swanson Industries team in Lambton. In this role you will manage key customer relationships across the Hunter Valley region, while identifying new opportunities to grow Swanson’s hydraulic cylinder manufacturing, repair and surface technology services.

This role is ideal for either an experienced technical sales professional or a trade-qualified Fitter/Machinist or mechanically minded technician ready to step into a customer-facing role, combining mechanical expertise with relationship-driven sales.

You will take ownership of an established customer base while developing new opportunities across the region, supported by an experienced internal team to help build your product and sales knowledge.

Tasks

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer related matters
  • Develop strong customer relationships to support long-term partnerships
  • Respond to technical enquiries and provide support to meet customer needs
  • Develop and maintain appropriate call cycles and marketing plans
  • Support internal sales teams with quotes, purchase orders and expediting
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Swanson’s products and service offerings
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross sell to expand the current customer footprint
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure services are delivered on time and within budget
  • Travel to meet with clients throughout the Greater Hunter Valley region

About You

  • Relevant industry experience in hydraulics, mining services, manufacturing or industrial equipment
  • Either a trade-qualified Fitter/Machinist looking to move into sales, or an experienced Account Manager within a related industry
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build long-term relationships
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Logical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems and related platforms
