What you'll be doing

As a Child & Youth Worker, you'll work with children and young people in residential care and:

  1. Be a trusted adult they can rely on
  2. Create safe spaces for yarns, learning and healing
  3. Support daily life -- meals, school, sport and community activities
  4. Share culture, stories and connection to Country
  5. Provide calm, trauma-aware support during tough moments
  6. Help young people build confidence, independence and pride
  7. Support non-Aboriginal staff to work in culturally safe ways.

What you'll need

  1. SA Driver's Licence (P2 or above)
  2. Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  3. First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  4. Ability to complete a paid 8-week induction
  5. Availability for rotating shifts (AM, PM, nights, weekends and public holidays).

Night-shift only roles available (full-time, part-time or casual).

  2. Mentoring or coaching
  3. Education support
  4. Disability or aged care
  5. Cultural or community leadership roles.
